I know it's not 2nd December yet but I started to compile my Christmas wishlist and it's bubbling over!
I was in Singapore airport last week and I wandered dreamily in to Hermès to gaze at the Cape Cod double tour (one day it will be mine). Whilst there I spotted this little russet beauty of a bag, sigh...
1st December is a wonderful day for many reasons; you finally get to open a window on your Advent calendar, you can legitimately sing jingles to your heart's content, and you are allowed to shop in earnest. Horrah!
In light of this, and a flurry of emails amongst my family, I'm creating a wishlist of things I really rather like . Please do feel free to buy any of these little beauties for me.
When I first saw the painting of the Arnolfini Marriage by Jan van Eyck at school I clocked the wonderfully ornate convex mirror. The painting isn't half brilliant either (though I think putting that one my wishlist might be slightly beyond the realms of possibility).
It all began with the rainbow I saw on flickr ages ago. It made me smile. A lot.
Then this season Charlotte Free had me lusting after the bottle of dye at Topshop Unique & Marchesa. She's got that Abbey Lee Kershaw mixed with Lara Stone thing going on.
Not helped by Thakoon's SS 2012 delicious-looking manes.
Some gals really can pull it off, think Natalie Portman in Closer and Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation. If at all, I think I'll dip my toe in and have the various shades of pinks highlights I sported a decade ago at university. I do love the full-on look, though.
I genuinely don't know how to contain myself. The utterly wonderful Consuelo Castiglioni of Marni is designing a collection for H&M that is launching... 8th March next year! Please, please, please may some of these heavenly pieces be remembered??
Liudmilla Bakhmat & Jacquetta Wheeler - Spring Summer 2002
Candela & Eugenia Volodina - Spring Summer 2003
Elise Crombez & Gemma Ward - Spring Summer 2005
Something to dream of to get me through the long and cold winter nights.
Bring on 8th March!
Not forgetting their underwear (www.net-a-porter.com). Also in yellow - too perfect.
I found this beauty on AnOther's Lovers. It is a Urania Ripheus, aka the Sunset Moth. Very apt for my previous Seenigama Sunset post.
The Urania Ripheus - Sunset Moth
There is something that facinates me about moths, even more so than butterflies. Their wings are like the thinest of paper and I love their understated delicacy. I'm off to get my colouring pencils out.
